To stay competitive in today’s tough job market, your students need credentials that are nationally recognized, industry-defined and widely respected.
ATS is Michigan’s sole business partner for the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC), an industry-led certification system focused on the core competencies and knowledge needed by the nation’s front-line industrial workers. MSSC programs utilize a mixture of online instruction, written assessments, and hands-on training to help your students to stay a cut above the rest.
MSSC has three certification programs that equip students with the core skills and knowledge needed by the nation’s front-line production and material handling workers:
Certified Production Technician (CPT)
The CPT program prepares students to work in all levels of manufacturing production, from entry-level positions to the supervisor roles. The CPT program consists of five individual certificate modules: Safety; Quality Practices & Measurement; Manufacturing Processes & Production; Maintenance Awareness and Green Production.
To help CPT students develop and perfect their skills, the MSSC launched the CPT+ Skill Boss program, a hands-on assessment program using a computer-controlled training device invented by Amatrol. The CPT+ Skill Boss program is designed to prepare certificate students with the skills to work in a technology-driven, data-intensive, advanced manufacturing workplace.
Skill Boss performs a wide variety of functions that help test the 55+ skills drawn from the MSSC’s National Production Standards. Compact, portable, and made with industrial-grade materials, Skill Boss is versatile enough to fit any classroom assessment scenario and strong enough to withstand daily use.
While there is no requirement for CPT institutions to own a Skill Boss machine, the technology has proven to be an invaluable tool for training students to fill front-line production jobs in all manufacturing sectors.
The CLT program equips individuals to work in all levels of supply chain logistics. The certificate covers the core principles of successful supply chain logistics, to more advanced topics like inventory control, safe handling of hazardous materials, evaluation of transportation modes, and more.
The CFT program certifies individuals to work in the repair and maintenance of forklift vehicles. Created in partnership with the Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association (MHEDA), the CFT prepares students to problem-solve and troubleshoot utilizing key engineering principles that encompass most forklift vehicles.
MSSC programs will fit perfectly into your institution’s existing technical training curriculum and increase your program’s relevance, credibility, and student job-placement rate.
